This BA project explores the commodification of environmental sustainability through the practices and critiques of the EU Ecolabel scheme. The focus lies on the conflicting roles and interests behind regulation, production, and consumption. A discussion between eco-capitalist and eco-marxist perspectives reveals reformism, revolution, and reconfiguration as possible ways forward. These positions serve as artistic strategies for redesigning the EU Ecolabel (new logo variations) and modifying the product packaging (object manipulations). The theoretical and practical works ultimately try to make a small change in debates and behaviors of product ecolabelling in socio-political, environmental, economic, and artistic dimensions.
