Projektbeschreibung
The installation Rage Cage examines the dynamics of digital discourse through the lens of the phenomenon of “Moral Outrage Porn.” It reveals the emotional intensity and often invisible consequences amplified by moral outrage in social media. The goal is to raise awareness of how digital interactions shape our perceptions, behaviors, and societal structures. At a time when the boundaries between fact and fiction in digital spaces are increasingly blurred, and platforms like Meta abandon fact-checking, the relevance of Rage Cage becomes particularly evident. The installation calls for active engagement in shaping both digital and physical spaces. It serves as a reminder that the responsibility for a constructive discourse lies not with the mechanisms of social media, but with us. Rage Cage invites visitors to critically reflect on their media consumption: How do digital media influence the way we think, feel, and act? How can we break free from a culture of outrage that prioritizes clicks and self-promotion over responsibility?
