I’m not a sports person; in fact, it stresses me out. I’ve tried all kinds of sports, but I always get so tense doing them that I never lasted long. I simply couldn’t handle the feeling of my body not moving as anticipated. So I grew up watching sports instead. All kinds of races: slalom skiing, track running, formula racing, biathlon, road bicycle racing, swimming, bobsleigh, cross-country rally, speed skating, and ice cross downhill. Racing has a clear structure. There is a track with a given distance. A starting point and a finishing line. A race may be run continuously to finish or may be made up of several segments called heats, stages, laps, or legs. There is no legal way of skipping a part or taking a shortcut.
