What if the buildings of tomorrow were made from the waste of today? The Loop draws from circular systems where nothing is wasted. Rooted in the vernacular of Yorkshire Dales architecture, it preserves traditional dry-stone techniques while reimagining what “local” means. With raw materials running low, we turn to the Sheffield steel industry – not for metal, but for its waste. Ferrock, made from steel dust, not only forms durable structures but also absorbs CO₂ as it cures. By transforming industrial byproducts into building blocks, we’re crafting a new vernacular – one that honors tradition, embraces innovation, and empowers communities to shape their own environments.
