Projektbeschreibung
Contemporary cities are dynamic, full of movement and people. With this constant flow comes a need for public spaces to evolve and adapt to the needs of their communities. The bachelor project, “Spaces in Flux”, explores how urban design influences how people use and perceive public space. The project promotes a more participatory approach to studying urban spaces. This is achieved by investigating the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna (MQ), a mixed-use open space, through qualitative photovoice interviews. The images and interviews collected were analysed using a Grounded Theory (GT) approach, which allowed for the systematic examination and contextualisation of the qualitative data to identify recurring themes and patterns and provided multiple perspectives. These interconnected perspectives were artistically illustrated, showcasing photographs of the spaces captured from three distinct vantage points using three separate cameras.
