Projektbeschreibung
Our data belongs to us, so let’s make it ours! This techno-social project questions our socio-cultural situation within late-stage capitalism's commodity-packed spectacle. Given the spectacle's inescapability, situationist disruption is used to reimagine it, the goal here is to seize sovereignty over our data, photos, and reality by switching to a paradigm that allows us to design our own scenarios and question the commodification of everyday life.
This new paradigm is materialised through the fabrication of an artefact: the (non)camera. Made up of sensors, a display, and a thermal printer, the (non)camera prints ‘images’ in the form of a textual memory-ticket. The memory-ticket, which combines textual, physical, and analogue inputs, subverts our attitude toward images by recovering them and enabling us to characterise our situations in new ways. One that defies the algorithmic spectacle that commodifies us and our experiences.
