Projektbeschreibung
Set along the coast of Kulasekarapattinam near a future spaceport, this project reimagines the observatory as a place where people gather to watch the sky and learn from it together. At its heart is a granite sundial that also holds space as an amphitheater. Celestial lines are carved into stone, catching light by day and holding silence by night. The architecture does not explain. It allows. Around the center, open structures unfold like steps of a ritual not bound by belief. They invite people to follow the movements of the sun and moon, of planets and stars. Each space is a quiet instrument, made not to speak but to show. Granite holds the weight of the ground. Fabric softens the light. Water reflects time. Shadows draw it. Here, knowledge is not taught. It is felt. It is shared by being there.
