Antidisciplinary Strategies. A Feminist Labour Regime Analysis of A. Pierburg KG, Neuss 1970–1973.

Projektbeschreibung
In a world shaped by an increasingly feminised and globalised workforce, emancipatory politics must be able to account for their experiences. Antidisciplinarity Strategies investigate the labour regime at A. Pierburg KG Neuss from 1970-73, where women Gastarbeiters successfully abolished the feminised wage groups through a series of wildcat strikes. In a historical document analysis, the relation between work, gender and migration is examined from the perspective of Social Reproduction Theory. The mobilisation of migrant women workers in a labour market segregated by both gender and migration status enabled the breadwinner model for German families. Subject to a gendered division of labour in and outside the factory, the women developed various subversive strategies. The thesis argues for a concrete materialist analysis of sexist and racist class structures to make political solidarity practicable today beyond mere verbal affirmations. In a self-reflective turn, the manipulated signage asks which social relations the Angewandte regime re/produces.
