Dance Hub: Reimagining a Dance Center for the 21st Century

Projektbeschreibung
Dance Hub, in Midtown Manhattan amid NYC’s dance scene, defies traditional performance hall layouts and proposes instead, stacking halls vertically, with the backstage below ground. The design guides visitors vertically through three dance halls, each representing in its layout, the spectators - performer relationship, lighting and materials a specific era of theatrical dance. The tour further features a dance gallery, a rooftop bar doubling as an open-air theater, and a dance lab for choreography archiving that gets displayed in the exhibition area inside the entrance lobby. Dance Hub is not just a venue for performances, but a space that shapes a new type of dance center to emerge.
